Let me introduce our selves, first left is my daughter Leigh then my mother Beryl, I am Marilyn and finally my sister Karen.
I started in obedience with a Newfoundland in the 1970's and gave up competing while the children were young. We purchased our first Lhasa "Ed" (Aust.Ch. Saxonydior Touch O Gold) in 1998, the breeder suggested we could show him, and as I had always been interested in conformation showing we attended a couple of shows as spectators, we met Ann Michaelis of Sintuk Lhasa Apsos, she filled us in on the finer points of showing and as they say "the rest is history". It was just Leigh and I for a few years and in 2003 my Mother and Sister joined us, and Sooquan Kennels was formed.
With help and friendship from the more established kennels, we have come a long way since 1998. We are members of the Lhasa Apso Club of NSW , Karen and I have held the position of Show Secretary and Secretary for the past 4 years.
Our foundation bitches "Molly" Shulara G Wata Harmony, and "Mia" Aust. Ch. Amesen Dancin Till Dawn and their daughters have produced well for us with 15 home bred Champions and more on the way. We regularly attend shows and have achieved Best In Show Specialty, Best in Group and multi class in Group and class in Show wins. All our dogs live with us in our homes as family members, not caged or kept in kennels.
Our aim is to produce dogs with wide genetic variation that are both sound in structure and temperament, but still keeping true to this sturdy little Tibetan dog. In October 2007 we imported frozen semen from Est, Ltu, Fnl, Int, Swd, Lv Ch. Chic Choix Touch Of Class "Tazi" from Chic Choix Kennels in Finland. In April 2009, working in conjunction with our good friend Kerrie Mansell - Kailasa Lhasa Apsos, our Tazi semen produced 4 beautiful puppies. 2009 was to be a memorable year for us, January 2009, "Humphrey" Chic Choix Humphrey Bogart (Imp Fin) arrived, we can not thank Juha enough for sending us with this beautiful boy .
We are totally committed and addiicted to these wonderful little dogs, this is just the beginning of a very long journey.
